Charlie has learned early in life that promises are sometimes just words with no meaning. Having lost her parents to a car crash at the age of ten, Charlie was raised by an elderly grandmother. Charile never had "normal" teenage years and after her grandmother becomes ill with cancer, no social life. Charlie's only real friend is an older boy named Kegan who has an abusive home life and one day has to leave... but only after promising to come for Charlie when she grows up and gets out of high school. As Charile deals with her grandmother's illness, this promise keeps her strong and after she loses her grandmother and realizes Kegan isn't coming, keeps her heart closed and shielded from getting close to anyone else.

Charlie allows herself one night out with her, best and only real friend Rae who talks her into going to the local cowboy bar to 'find herself a good time for the night' and have some fun before starting her resident training at the local veternairy hospital. Charlie instead finds Trevor, a tall dark and totally hot handsome cowboy who can't seem to take his deliciously chocolate brown eyes off of her. Charlie discovers that Trevor actually can make her memories of Kegan disappear when he holds her and makes her body quiver with need while simply dancing. When he proposes sharing her with his best friend, Charlie is stunned and very turned on by the thought of what Trevor is suggesting.... until she discovers his best friend is Kegan, the boy that forgot his promise to return for her.

Trevor can't wait for Kegan to meet Charlie. He is sure that she is the woman of their dreams and fireworks fly when he discovers that Charlie is the ghost that has haunted Kegan for five years. Not being able to forget Charli,e he is determined to find her and make her his and Kegan's.

Kegan hadn't ever gotten over Charlie but with the things that happened to him growing up, he never felt good enough for her. Fleeing his on demons, Kegan found work on Trevors dad's ranch. Trevor and Kegan discover they both have parental issues and soon become best friends. Trevor helps Kegan overcome his sexual issues when he starts "sharing" his women. This works well until Trevor finds Charlie and Kegan has to deal with his past... again.

I LOVED reading this book! Trevor, Charlie, and Kegan's stories are very touching and moving. This book is one that I would recomend to anyone who likes to read great contemporary erotic romance books. This book does contain a great deal of well written menage sex scenes as Trevor and Kegan teach Charlie what it is to truly love two men...and that is what I find so different and refreshing about this book it allows for both men to truly love not only her but each other and not in a sexual way. There is no gay sex in this books so if you have never read a menage book because of not wanting to read gay sex, this is the book for you to enjoy as your first venture into menage books. I highly recomend this book and look forward to reading other books written by Ms.Desbois.
