| Once again Nora Roberts has proven why she is so well loved as an author. This, the last offering in the Bride Quartet, has completed the series on a great note. This book is about four best friends who grew up playing "weddings and now were living that play act. Parker was the face of Vows. She and her brother had inherited the Brown estate when their parents died. All four of the friends now lived on the premises. Parker was the only one of the four who hadn't found the love of her life.
Parker Brown was the one who met the demands of the brides and their parties. She did all the scheduling and kept activities coordinated. Emma did flowers; Laurel was the baker. Mac handled the photography while Mrs. Grady was the resident housekeeper that acted as a respected mother to the entire group. The very last thing Parker needed was a boyfriend—especially one who was blue-collar and was her brother Del's good friend. And it was incredible that he rode a motorcycle. Malcolm Kavanaugh was an automobile mechanic that worked on all the cars at the company. He had been interested in Parker for a while. He didn't believe she would have anything to do with him or his position in life. His relationship with Del was also a factor for his hesitation to confront her. Malcolm was secure within himself. He was, however, doubtful of Parker's attraction to him. Ms. Roberts has created these four women, plus their love interests, and introduced each in her own book. This final one, Parker, was as well written as all the others. It is a perfect ending to the series. So many characters, in addition to the housekeeper, could have been confusing. Ms. Roberts had no trouble keeping them all straight and neither did I. The entire cast was strong and very interesting. I definitely didn't want to put the book down. The sensuality in this book was well-written. The sex scenes were not offensive. The book was one almost anybody would love to read. I highly recommend this book (the series) and guarantee you will love it.
