| Deanna Langsford is an ordinary sixteen year-old spending another boring summer holiday with her parents at the lake. Everything seems to change when she meets Eric Matthews and now she'll be more than reading paranormal romances, she'll be living one because Eric has secrets not only about himself but Deanna as well.
This was an interesting beginning to a new young adult romantic paranormal series. The lead characters are likable but they needed to be more fully developed, which I imagine will happen as the next story is told. I enjoyed the moments of interaction between Deanna and her parents and found a genuine connection with her feelings toward them both. This story seems geared toward a young reader and I believe the target audience will love it. A warning if you are like me and cannot stand when a book just ends abruptly without filling in many of the reader's unanswered questions, my suggestion is to wait and read the entire series together. I look forward to reading the next book as the overall story does appeal to me.
