| Rock and a Hard Place is a story about twin brothers, Rockbottom and Ironflanks, exiled as children to Alpha Island. They are considered a threat to Amazurn society because they are lively spirits and taller than other boys. Their mother has very little choice but bring them to Alpha Island. On Alpha Island, adult males have two ways of surviving: prostitution or gladiator games. After many years of hard training, Rock and Iron are a famous and feared gladiator team who have won many competitions. Until two Earth women, Geri and Dee,, fall through a black hole to Alpha Island the brothers thought their only goal would be to gain enough prize money fighting to immigrate off of Alpha Island. Soon they have loving and passionate relationships but the brothers are pressured and must risk all they have to survive.
The fighting and loving action continues in this part two of the Rock and Iron story. This story has a fast pace and you will enjoy getting to know these brothers who, like many twins, have different styles. At times this is a funny light hearted story with antics by Rock that often buck the muscle man stigma. Then reading of the tenderness Iron shows Dee and of childhood pain Iron has repressed for so long will pull you into this story even more. The brothers' quest for survival is displayed in the love they seek with their girlfriends, the intensity they bring to their competitions and the acts they are forced to endure for each other. This is another good story by Kate Hill. Be warned Double Time: Rock and a Hard Place is the second part of the story of twin brothers Rock and Iron so I would suggest purchasing the first part of the story Double Time: Puppies Bite at the same time to avoid any delay in seeing how Rock and Iron survive Alpha Island and romance.
