Ailyn had been held on Riezell- Nine a medical facility that experimented on creating and controlling the Reapers. When he was rescued he was taken to Theristes a place where those of his kind can try to find some peace and put the tortures of their past behind them.

Shanee once loved a Reaper named Quinn who she knew did not love her. But even her love for Quinn could not compare to what she feels the moment she meets Ailyn. They are destined to be together. But someone wants them dead. Shanee and Ailyn must work together to defeat an evil enemy from the past so that they can begin their life together.

Hunger’s Harmattan is another great installment in the fascinating WindVerse saga from Charlotte Boyett-Compo. In this story we learn what happened with Ailyn and Shanee. Two wonderfully developed characters that readers can easily become attached to. Long time fans of the author know of Shanee the Amazeen warrioress from Phantom of the Wind. This is her chance at happiness that was denied her with Quinn.

As am Amazeen princess, Shanee is expected to be the best in all things including strength and bravery. In this story readers will see a softer side of the character as she finds love. I loved the fact this powerful, touch as nail soldier blushes and stutters when she meets the handsome Ailyn. She acts completely female and it is a wonderful thing to see. But wait until someone hurts her man and they see she is every bit the warrior everyone will remember.

Ailyn, like most of the Reapers had a tortured and trouble past. His more tortured than some. Readers will sympathize with this character and pray for him to withstand the trials that take place in this story. Readers will hate that this man must once again suffer at the hands of the enemy.

The chemistry between these two characters is lightening. It strikes the moment the first lay eyes on each other. The two come together in numerous hot and steamy scenes where they celebrate the love they have found. It is a joy to watch them find happiness and it will leave the readers smiling.

Exciting action will draw the readers into this intriguing story. Someone wants Shanee and Ailyn dead and will do anything to see that happens. But as everyone knows a Reaper does not go down easy and when that Reaper has an Amazeen as a mate they are almost invincible. Everything does not go smoothly for the two and there will be some very close calls that will have the readers waiting anxiously to see what happens. For passion and excitement I recommend readers look for Hunger’s Harmattan by Charlotte Boyett-Compo.
