On his wedding night the Earl of Somerset is shocked to find his new bride is not simply nervous but terrified about bedchamber activities. In order to calm her nerves and get a feel for her sexual interests James gifts her with a box of racy books. Patience believes being blind-folded and bound will make it easier to perform her wifely duties, however she couldn't imagine her husband's forbearance could melt her resistance and her heart.

I could not put down the sexy and sweet story. The fabulous balance of tenderness and eroticism blended with two endearing characters made for one enticing read. Patience and James are both complex and I found myself holding my breath in anticipation of both their bedroom antics as well in the hopes that the two would indeed work out their relationship problems. She is so witty and formidable in the drawing room and so unsure of herself in the budoir. The sexy nobleman stole a piece of my heart with his empathy, thoughtfulness and sexual prowess. The descriptions are so vivid in this story and I particularly enjoyed the couple's visit to Miss Killian; the scene jumped off the pages. I love a good cry when reading or watching movies and this poignant story bought tears to my eyes, not from sadness but from the beautiful sensitivity of the entire tale.
