| Years past, the Stronghold in California had been destroyed by evil magick. Everyone believed the Bedrock had perished.
Then it made contact. HEALING MAGICK picks up shortly after Sulis’ nightmare ends with Janus. She has decided she is worthless in the eyes of Goddess. Unable to free herself from the memories, Sulis decides she is going to be one of the Daughters of Goddess. Her grandmother is outraged and proceeds to tell Sulis that she has been given an assignment. In turn, Sulis intends to tell the Council of her refusal. But no one refuses the Goddess’ request. So she agrees knowing that after this assignment, she will have her wish. Mage Llyr came from being a Stronghold rat to a man intent on worshiping Goddess as nature desired. He was thrilled to be chosen for the California assignment even though it brought back horrible memories. Especially since his companion was a daughter of the Balance. That in itself gave Llyr nightmares. Although he had sworn to never get involved with another after his disastrous relationship, it was different this time. He did not have a choice. The Council decided they were to be bondmates. Bringing back characters from past books while focusing on restoring the Stronghold begets a lively tale of lifelong love in the making. Yet the tale would not be complete without Shiva’s reappearance. Those who have not read previous Magick tales may not understand the importance of this consequence. But it is important as Shiva is the root of all that is evil. And he is the one who destroyed the Stronghold in the first place. The Sayre’s are tough characters with a strong willpower to do their own thing. Taffs had the ingenuity to push them into situations that tested the beliefs instilled since birth. Their upbringing is unique but they never detoured from the path already chosen for them by Goddess. HEALING MAGICK is a test Sulis must pass for the Goddess has given her a special gift. Once Sulis realizes she can heal Bedrock, Sulis’ confidence begins to rise. Then Sulis finds out that she has another healing to perform. This is great! A writer with a revealing tale and a plot that holds is hard to find. The third book in the Magick series, HEALING MAGICK, is a must read.
