Sara is working hard in her new job as the Eurus Colony’s doctor, and at the same time is missing her newly married friend. She doesn’t have time to think about it too much, because she’s keeping so busy with her patients that she’s barely got time to do anything any more, and she’s starting to feel the stress. When she finally gets some time to rest a strange ship crashes on her outstation, and she finds herself attracted to the captain like no one she’s ever met before. Surely just a little fling wouldn’t hurt to take her mind off it all?

Davin doesn’t want to get involved with anyone, but just can’t resist Sara when he sees her. When he finds out he has to stay a while to fix his ship, he decides that it might not be so bad; as long as he can keep a few things from his new lover...

The characters in this story were well thought out and interesting. I really enjoyed Sara, she’s a very driven person who can be a little scatterbrained, but able to be tough and focus when needed. Davin has a whole host of problems to deal with, and a little bit of past he needs to get over in order to involve himself with Sara. The chemistry between the two lit up the pages, and the story kept me on the edge of my seat. The only time I lost the thread a bit was when Sara ended up with the miners, it didn’t tie in very well. I liked that they had issues to work out and that it took time for that to happen. The sex between the two was hot and passionate, just the way it should be in a book like this. I truly enjoyed The Bonds That Heal Us, its one book that you shouldn’t miss.
