| Scotty Tockterman has asked Tracy Gordon to marry him. He promised to show her the world only he was now dead. He'd drowned trying to save a woman and her child from a car that plunged into the river. All Tracy had left were memories and the engagement ring he placed on her finger before he dove into the river. Life just didn't seem fair to Tracy.
Two weeks after Scotty's death Tracy's house was ransacked and the cruelest blow of all was the man who appeared at her door angrily yelling at her for sending his death notice to his parents. Too shocked to answer Tracy was at a loss for words. If this man was Steve Tockterman who was Scotty and why did he lie to her? Steve Tockterman had no idea when he found Tracy Gordon that she was completely innocent of this hoax. She was taken in by a con man who had his reasons for wanting to marry Tracy, but what were they? When he convinced Tracy that he truly was the real S. Tockterman he promised to help her find out who the imposter was and what his motives were. Together they piece together the puzzle and fall in love. And she does marry Scotty Tocktermen? The real one? The plot was well executed. At first I had thought it was going to be another young woman grieving for her long lost love, and when the real S. Tockterman shows up it turns a simple romance into a mystery, suspense. Readers will enjoy not only the story but will get engrossed into the hunt for who Scotty really was. Also readers will get to feel that somehow everything leads back to her step mother's past. I don't want to give away the story but it's well worth the read for romance and suspense.
