| Simeon’s been feeling blue since the Desperate and Dateless Ball. He’s dreaming of a fantasy woman wearing a vintage suit and wondering why he’s not drooling over pole dancers or taking one home. Why bother when it leaves you feeling so empty? He is burning for a woman whose face he’s never seen.
Clare is a librarian in present day Earth. She likes her life, except for the weirdoes who target her, she’ll probably never meet Mr. Right and she’s got an empty place inside that aches for a family. She found an ancient book about the origins and history of vampires. She sat on a park bench to read it. She looked up to find she wasn’t in her park anymore, but one on a different world. Heated Fantasies details very hot and sexy love affairs, a bizarre mystery and a shameful, life-changing secret, while each man is left longing someone to complete his soul-circle. Even while it sets up the sequel, this is an interesting and stimulating plot with a steady, but laid-back pace. It builds a fascinating world and defines the relationships of all the characters with one another. The main characters are well developed and we learn background information about the characters to be featured in the next episode. Although our characters were mentioned as attendees of the Ball in the first installment, the plot did nothing more than introduce them, so this book stands alone except for the unresolved questions that leave us longing to read Book 3. I can’t wait to read more about the very yummy Montague Vampires.
