| Mentoring her boss's nephew isn't something Jenna Cavanaugh is looking forward to, especially when it means being in a different lab than the one she's used to. Plus, as a scientist, the men she's around are nothing like Aidan Boudreaux –- gorgeous with a sexy Cajun accent. Which might prove interesting, especially when he could be the man to end her months of going without sex?
Fort Lauderdale is the last place Marine Biologist Aidan Boudreaux wants to be. But for his uncle, he's willing to put his research in Canada on hold. And when meeting the beautiful woman his uncle has paired him with, he's not interested in research. Instead, he offers something better -– a summer fling. Heat Index was a very good story, and I loved how this author bought the two characters together from the beginning with them meeting in elevator. The plot progressed nicely with a dialogue I found a tad amusing, especially when Jenna learned that the gorgeous man from the elevator was in fact Aidan. I liked the added danger caused by one of the secondary characters, as I wasn't expecting it. As to the fact, that Aidan and Jenna worked together quite well to see them through the harrowing situation. The chemistry between these two was there from their first meeting, and exploded to make some really hot sex scenes. One of which was in her office while on the phone with his uncle, which had me in a fit of laughter. As for Jenna, I thought she was risking a promising relationship with Aidan because she wouldn't give up her work, yet I could understand her hesitation because she didn't want to be like her mother. While with Aidan, I liked how determined he was to prove her wrong that they could have a relationship, but in the end I thought he gave up all too easily. In conclusion, this was an engrossing read that I had finished in next to no time. So, if you're looking for something under a hundred pages with a little action and a lot of hot loving, then this is the book for you.
