| Lace Kincaid, the best-selling romance author is in fact two people. Ashley Kincaid writes the books and her twin sister Lexi markets and promotes them. The team is on the verge of really making it big in the publishing world and are the favorite to win the coveted Crystal Quill award. Newspaper writer Rick Orlando and his friend photographer Penny are assigned to spend the week following Lace and writing about the famous local author for their newspaper. At first Rick loathes the glitzy and plastic Lace, but when he meets her later she seems like a completely different person. He is fast falling in love with at least half of her, but the Lexi side and her rumored romance with cover model Sapphire Man has his head spinning. Ashley quickly falls for Rick, who is very like her heroes, but the shy twin does not have the confidence of her sister, especially since her broken engagement.
This is a lighthearted and fun take on the relationship between twins. Lexi and Ashley look identical but couldn’t be more different inside. The Sapphire Man seems a little sharper that Rick in detecting the difference, and Penny suspects something wrong from the start. Ashley and Rick’s romance is so much fun to follow, as is the subplot of Lexi and Sapphie. Both Ashley and Rick have overprotective friends who actually impede them from finding out about the scam, but after meeting Ashley’s ex, it is a logical step on their part at least. This romance is nearly impossible to put down once you start it.
