Tonia Fuller is a smart, top heavy (LARGE breasts) and a klutzy woman. Newly moved to Boston, Tonia takes two bad falls, one resulting in a concussion. Both times, she is rescued by Raphael Beauchamp, paramedic turned medical student. Raphael is entranced by Tonia, but equally confused by her. She simply does not seem to belong, but where does she belong? Raphael finds out that Tonia is the ex-wife of a Las Vegas mobster and “people” are after her. Can he help Tonia figure out what to do and still deal with his fascination with her?

Heaving Bosoms was a fun read. Tonia was a well-written and hysterically funny character; she and Raphael fit well together. Raphael was totally confused. As he continued to follow Tonia through her misfortunes, he kept trying to convince himself that he really did not want to to this. He did want to help Tonia, of course, he was falling in love with her. However, with Tonia's madcap antics, Raphael was afraid that he would not be able to graduate from medical school. He was continually attempting to save Tonia from herself. Once Tonia and Raphael got together sexually (for several reasons, it took a while), they had amazingly erotic sex. I was aroused right along with them. There were several secondary characters who were absolutely necessary to the plot. They were interesting and fun, with wild twists and turns. Even Tonia's ex-husband, in jail, played a role. The plot kept bouncing along, with a lighthearted tone and enjoyable characters. Ms. Chase has an intense sense of humor that she used well in Heaving Bosoms. I hope to be able to read other books by Ashlyn Chase!
