Stryder is the dragon's keeper, and when he finds the new girl waiting for him, he is attracted to her in a way he's never been before. He's only got one concern though, and that's keeping his dragon "Drego" alive and well. Rayne will be nothing but food for the dragon come the winter… but then he finds himself in an odd position, because it seems that Drego actually likes this girl, and Stryder finds himself fascinated by her as well. Will he be able to feed her to Drego when it comes time?

Hellcat is one of those stories that has you starting out feeling one way about a person in the story, and by the time the story is done you feel completely different about the character. Stryder and his dragon certainly qualify for that. I thought when it started that the dragon really didn't eat the girls, maybe they put them somewhere. Then I found out that they actually did, and it was hard to like them. Slowly, as the story moves on, I started to understand what it was all about and get to know Stryder and Drego. I like the kind of story that gets you to change your mind despite yourself, and this one certainly fits the bill. Rayne is a strong woman that is more than capable of taking care of herself, which is great to see. Stryder was comfortable in his life, until Rayne came along and made him see things he hadn't really thought of before. There wasn't really a lot of sex in this story, although when it happens it is definitely hot. Hellcat is a wonderful story that you shouldn't miss.
