| Running from an abusive ex, Kael Hammerson begins his new life in Ireland working in a research lab. But what’s a herpetologist supposed to do in a country with no snakes? Hugh Price is the answer. With his heart on the mend after a year of working through his past, Hugh is a temptation that Kael is trying hard to resist. As Kael’s boss, Hugh is reluctant to cross the employer/employee line, but the appearance of an unidentifiable sea creature sends their lives into a spiral. Now fighting for their lives as well as the lives of the world Kael and Hugh must work to ensure that their love withstands the return of Dragons and the meddling of a goddess.
TA Chase has woven a contemporary tale filled with magic of old and a love that is as timeless as history itself. Kael’s transformation from a shy and timid man to one that finally sees his self worth makes the reader want to give him a round of applause. Hugh’s willingness to nurture Kael’s growing confidence while also dealing with the emotional aftermath of the beatings Kael endured made me fall in love with him instantly. Their relationship is lovingly sweet as well as page burningly passionate. It surprised me that my palm pilot didn’t burst into flames as I read their erotic encounters. The word hot doesn’t even begin to describe their lovemaking. Here Be Dragons captured my attention from Kael’s first stumble and kept me captive through to Kael and Hugh’s story ending embrace. With so many additional characters introduced towards then end of the book I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Mr. Chase will be giving us additional books in what promises to be an amazing series in the near future.
