| Paige Turner feels stuck in a rut. Along with coworkers who take her for granted, her fiancé seems to only want her research skills and connections. No wonder she has sexy dreams where a skillful Celtic lover fulfills her fantasies. After a terrible day she rebelliously decides to treat herself, for a change! She splurges on decadent Irish whisky truffles and eats every one. She falls asleep wishing her dream lover could be true. She wakes with a candy hangover, blaming the rich sweets for her unbelievably realistic dreams. Until she finds the hard-bodied warrior in her bed! Seamus is a war-leader, a man used to command and caring for his people. Lately he’d been distracted by dreams of a beautiful woman. After a disastrous battle his last thought is the regret he never had a chance to find love with his soul mate. The sparks really fly when this determined warrior decides to prove to the stubborn librarian that, despite their differences, they really are soul mates.
The Sweet Shoppe: Her Wicked Warrior is a thoroughly entertaining romantic fantasy. The characters are all very well drawn. There’s a lot of humor, heartwarming emotion and the descriptions are so vivid, they really draw you into the story. Seamus is the biggest sweetie in the shop, although he’d hate to be called sweet. His character leaps off the page with a mixture of complete confidence, strength and devotion. The situations where this ancient Irish warrior has to deal with modern conveniences are funny, but also show his intelligence. Paige loves Celtic mythology, but passed on a dream job in Ireland for her fiancé. Deep down she is a strong woman, but has allowed others to take advantage of her warm and nurturing personality. Seamus fulfills all Paige’s sensual longings. Now she’s resisting her deeper feelings for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is this hunky stranger has to be crazy. But when her research supports his claims, she hopes it isn’t too late to listen to her heart. The pacing was great, the secondary characters add depth to the plot and the sex scenes are truly legendary. Both of these lonely people wished for a soul mate and the Sweet Shoppe made magic happen. Her Wicked Warrior is a keeper.
