| For twenty years, Joel Lockhart has waited impatiently to take his vengeance on the man who raped and murdered his sister when he was a young boy. He's already killed three of the rapists, and now he just has one left, the cruelest and most vicious of the bunch…Vincent Grainger. His plans are almost complete, but one person holds him back. Vincent's wife, Tracy. Beaten and bruised, a broken woman who cowers in Vincent's presence, Joel nonetheless falls head over heels for her. His new goal: make Tracy his own.
When Vincent reluctantly hands over his wife to Joel, Tracy is scared out of her wits. But Joel isn't like Vincent. During the five months they spend together, she sees the gentle soul that lurks in his eyes, in his touch. She wants to be with him more than anything and not as another man's wife, but Vincent will never let her go. Tracy knows it is now up to her to change her future. Joel has given her that courage and she won't waste it. But events quickly spiral out of control and before she knows what is happening, Tracy is on the run after she shot her husband. She waits patiently for Joel to come and take away her pain, but he doesn't come. Tracy is going to have to step up to the plate herself and fight for her own future, all the while hoping that all is not lost with Joel. Where is Joel? Has he finally achieved his vengeance or has that been pushed aside in his quest to find Tracy again? Explosive passion and scary villains make Shiloh Walker's latest story a thrilling tale. Joel is very focused on his need for revenge, but with the entrance of Tracy into his life, his heart is touched for the first time since his sister's death. His new feelings scare him, but he'll do anything to ensure Tracy's safety, even at the risk of never being able to be with her again. I really like how he made no apologies for himself, for who he is or what he has done in his life. He knows he's not necessarily a knight in shining armor but he is by far a more honorable man than Vincent. Tracy is an able heroine who, despite her tragic circumstances, finds the courage to change her life, even without the man she has fallen in love with. Both of these characters share a deep-seated loyalty and love for each other, which makes them very endearing to the reader, despite the more gritty details of the deeds they have done. Shiloh Walker knows how to create razor edge tension, both sexual and situational, and His Every Desire is a great example of her unique writing talents. This tale is sure to win Ms. Walker many new fans!
