| On a night when Julian Nash and his business partner Cash Vega should have been celebrating their big promotion things aren't quite right in Julian's world. He just found his current lover involved with another man. When Ryan Dean, model, movie and TV star, offers to make it better life gets more fun with a twist that Julian couldn't have predicted.
Mary Calmes makes this anything but the typical m/m romance when she throws in demons, sentinels and warders when we least expect them. It's good to see that this author goes away from the stereotype of gay men by giving Julian a male friend who isn't a closet gay. The relationship of Julian, Cash and his wife Phoebe is one of many bright parts of the book. The actual introduction of paranormal beings is a small part of the book and not quite as tantalizing as the rest of it. It's a good twist to help make this a unique story though. There's a good bit of eroticism and sex play to keep the story hot and fun. Dialogue and action scenarios done with some tongue in cheek help keep the reader smiling. This author shows great potential to become a favorite the way she develops her characters. I'm not sure how fitting others will find the introduction of paranormal beings to a tale that was going so well without them. That part seemed a bit more stilted than the rest. Overall the book is well worth a read because of all the positives that are within this writer's overall style in telling a story.
