| Beth Barrett and her sister, Jilly are psychically connected. When Jilly is murdered by her husband she sends a warning to Beth that she is next. When Beth goes to the cops with her story that she knows that Jilly’s husband had been responsible for the hit and run she is not believed. She has no physical proof. So when she returns to them saying that he is now stalking her and she fears for her safety they believe she may just be trying to have him arrested. Without proof there is nothing they can do. Detective Ryan Snyder has been with her throughout the case and is trying to find the answers without his emotional attachment getting in the way. He is highly attracted to Beth even though he does not believe her about her psychic link to her dead sister.
Hit and Run by Carol Ann Erhardt is a passionate, suspense-filled romance. Beth suffers from the loss of her twin sister in which she shared a psychic connection. She is determined that the person responsible for killing her sister gets what he deserves. She does not have time for romance especially with someone who does not believe her. She is frustrated that no one ever believed that the two sisters could communicate psychically. She reports she is being stalked by the killer but without proof the law's hands are tied. Again tthese are frustrating but very realistic stalking situations. The frustration adds to the suspense for the reader. This is an emotionally stirring story as the reader feels the anger and frustration along with the characters. The passionate chemistry flares whenever Ryan and Beth are in the same scene. But it is either give into the passion or solve a case. So that adds frustration to an already frustrated Beth. She believes she will have to be killed before someone believes her. The reader believes she just may be right. Ryan loves Beth but he wants to keep her safe while he solves the case. Misunderstandings drive a wedge between them. Danger comes in the form of Jilly’s insane husband who does not think anything about killing to get his way. Suspense builds as he tortures Beth by stalking her and preparing for her murder. Hit and Run by Carol Ann Erhardt is a wonderfully intense, passionate suspense that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats with their eyes clued to the book.
