Dex didn't know how good his life was until Brandi left him. But now that she's back, he plans to find out why she left in the first place. However, when he learns her secret, he still can't seem to stop himself from touching her, even though the secret turns his world upside down and makes him start questioning things from his past.

Holding On was a really captivating story from the beginning with the way it introduced Brandi and her baby. The plot was quick-paced, that I had this story finished in quite a short time. The dialogue was intriguing, because things were tense between Brandi and Dex because she didn't want Dex to know about the baby until the timing was right. The sex scenes were hot, and the love between Dex and Brandi was unmistakable through the writer's words. What I liked so much about Brandi was how good of a mother she was, even though she was hiding the knowledge of her baby from the child's father. While with Dex, that no matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop loving Brandi, and eventually accepted the truth that he was the father of her child.

Overall, Holding On was a great short story and the first I've read by this author. However, it won't be my last. Well done, Ms. Thomas.
