Maria works in Domestic Violence and deals on a regular basis with Colin, a police detective. Both would like very much to have the other and it wouldnt have to be on a silver platter, naked in the others bed would be just fine, but neither will make that first crucial move to indicate interest. Joan, Marias best gal pal, knows the score and in writing a Christmas wish note to Santa inadvertently gets the ball rolling between her two friends when that letter gets to Colin by accident.

Because Maria works in the field she does, she feels guilty about the secret desires she has sexually. Suppression has been her solution up till now with Trust being a major factor necessary for the role she wants. When Colin tells her that he got the note accidentally, and adds that he has an offer for her, it doesnt take very long for him to override any doubts she might have. She trusts him with no doubt and wants to experience just for this one night her innermost desires, with this special man.

Their emotional respect has always been clear but to find that their physical desires meld so well is nothing less than Fate. Having Colin point out the difference in their work cases and the loving sex they themselves shared, finally allows Maria to understand and accept that her guilt is unnecessary when trust exists between two individuals and sex is not a struggle for power. A wonderful story.
