| This Christmas, Sophia is not doing the traditional thing. Her husband has been dead for two years now and she just cannot fathom celebrating a traditional Christmas without him for the second year in a row. So, she is going on a Caribbean cruise alone.
When Ethan discovers Sophia is going on a cruise, he hightails it to the boat. Ethan is the business partner and best friend of Sophia's deceased husband. Lately however, Ethan has started having feelings for Sophia. She is not just his best friend's widow anymore, rather she is an intelligent and interesting woman in her own right and Ethan is taking notice. But will the cruise be able to bring them together or only drive them farther apart? Kate Davies pens a gentle and tender romance in Home for Christmas. Ethan and Sophia are both tentative and a bit nervous about their new feelings. They want each other but are not sure if it is the product of the new relationship they are forming, or if it is the bond they share over Sophia's husband. Davies gave past emotions their due but she also celebrated the new love that was blooming between Ethan and Sophia. The cruise provides a magical atmosphere in which love can blossom but it will take some heartfelt dialogue between these characters to truly decide if they are happy together. These are mature adults who are able to handle the curveballs life throws at them. Home for Christmas is merry, poignant and a definite heart warming romance.
