Rachel Porter was living the high life in L.A.. She was a stylist to the stars and lives and breathes for her job. That is until she found her most important client in bed with her boyfriend. They were mean to her and she went a little crazy. Now her client is rumored to be on the way to rehab and Rachel is jobless, carless, and homeless. None of her other clients will return her calls. So, she goes home to Kismet, Michigan to hide and regroup. Reno Wright is a former NFL kicker who now owns a sporting goods store. His father and mother are headed for divorce and his best friend is in love with Rachel but hasn’t met her yet. Rachel is the former town rebel and his sister’s friend and he just can’t stay away from her.

This novel is a fun story of a woman finding what she really needs in life. Rachel was successful but not really happy in L.A. and coming home to a small town full of genuine people and the irresistible Reno is really what she needs. The chemistry between the two is immediate and very strong. Unfortunately Reno is supposed to be trying to fix her up with his friend Nate, who for a man the size of Bigfoot does an excellent impression of the Invisible Man. The subplot of Reno’s sister Angela and Nate is good enough for a separate book. I really liked reading about how Rachel applied her knowledge of people to her new friends in her hometown, like getting Reno’s parents back together. The L.A. style Christmas party is a definite highlight. I just loooved it. Kismet is a definite Christmas destination. The characters in this story are very strong and the plot makes it difficult to put down. Rachel gets into the Christmas spirit despite herself, making this book a must-read for the Christmas season.
