Merl Weishart has been homeless for more than two years. He has just hunkered down to endure another winter in Eden, Colorado when he encounters Nate Bloom. Nate is an aspiring photo journalist. He's working on a project about the homeless camps in Eden. His wealthy parents have died and Nate is now alone. His project becomes personal when an early blizzard hits and Nate feels compelled to open his home to Merl and others from the camp. After years on the street, Merl has lost his ability to trust but senses something in Nate. Can these two men work together to provide long term help for the homeless in Eden and perhaps even a chance at happiness for themselves?

Merl and Nate are very well-written characters. They draw you into their respective worlds and make you care. The premise of the book is very interesting. My only complaint is that it is too short to do the story justice. Ms. O'Dare balances the seriousness of the subject matter with a blossoming m/m romance. The disparity in their in their circumstances could lead to a tawdry affair but it doesn't. The author forces each man to examine his motivations. The result is sweet and honest attraction. I came to care about these people in a very short time and would love to see a continuation of their story. I will be looking for books by this author and recommend this nicely done story.
