| After Amanda finds out that her fiance, a pilot, has been cheating on her with another flight attendant, she decides to go home. She left the small town when she was eighteen but now it seems like the perfect place to live. When she gets there, her younger brother and his friend, who she remembers as a cute thirteen year old, help her move in. Only her brother's friend, Dylan, is no longer a cute little boy. Now he's a very sexy man, and she barely bites back words that would let him know she's very interested in his new self. And Dylan himself has never gotten rid of his crush on Amanda.
Hometown Hero was a charming contemporary romance, with a few erotic love scenes thrown in. I thought Dylan was very sexy, and the younger man/older woman romance plot never seemed to take complete hold. There was no real angst in Amanda over lusting after Dylan, which I appreciated, and Dylan never acted his age. They seemed perfectly matched. My only discontent while reading Hometown Hero was the abrupt shift in the story from Dylan and Amanda lusting for each other but still dancing around the subject to jumping right in without hesitation. It was almost like a part of the story was cut from the middle, leaving that part seeming incomplete. But I still really like this Quickie, and enjoyed the rather traditional feel it had.
