| Alix Risseu is one of triplets. She is accused of a crime she didn't commit, but she knows who did. She does not want this person punished. When she is captured and taken to Aginfeld for her alleged crimes she confesses to the crime, unaware that all crimes are punished by death. Commander Nickal McDirk is responsible for security on Aginfeld. Master Zach Rosly, a citizen of Aginfeld, knows Alix. He went to university with her on Earth. He also means to make her his wife if all goes as planned. When time comes for Alix to face execution she is given the choice to marry or die. Nickal is domineering and arrogant. He requests to marry Alix. Zach is obsessed to the point of madness, especially when he is unable to request Alix. Danger is ever present and political intrigue leads to deadly consequences.
Home World Aginfeld by Rhobin Courtright is an emotionally stirring story of political intrigue and romance. It is filled with complex characters, each very interesting by themselves. Alix is a strong woman in many ways, yet she is very vulnerable. She has survived many years of terrible torture and abuse and this helps shape her personality. The abuse is described in heart-wrenching detail. She is attracted to Nickal but she does rebels against the constant constraints placed upon her. Nickal is arrogant and domineering, he is attracted to Alix but he wants to make her into the perfect Aginfeld wife. He is one of the characters that will change greatly. The dialogue was well written and flows smoothly. This story will bring tears to the eye when Alix's history is told and then to watch what is done to her on Aginfeld. The resolution in the end brings healing to all. The romance is bumpy from the beginning but develops into something great. After all of this, someone wants Alix and Nickal out of the picture and attempts are made of their lives. Home World Aginfeld is a wonderfully written, emotionally stirring futuristic story filled with political intrigue and the love of family.
