Time to dust off the cowboy boots and mosey on up to the bar once again. This good old country Christmas won't disappoint. I loved each previous Honky Tonk tale but this one was by far my favorite. The serious subject matter was handled with such a strong heart and a solid humor. This story provided me with good old bawl my eyes out tears while a sad hopeful happiness settled in my heart. I couldn't ask for a finer male specimen than Holt Jackson, he's just darn near perfect and Sharlene is perfect for him. Of all the sassy bar wenches Sharlene takes a special place in my heart. She's so strong and so fragile yet she doesn't let anyone but Holt see her wounded heart. Judd and Waylon are definitely a handful and I wouldn't have them any other way. As with all the books in this series, the secondary characters are fantastic. Sharlene's family is a force to reckon with and I particularly liked meeting her maternal grandfather. It was nice to see that she never exaggerated about her momma. I know I'm going to be rereading this one for years to come. This book makes me believe in Christmas miracles and long slow kisses under the mistletoe. So grab your holiday hottie and boot-scoot to the old jukebox.
