Hooking Up

Trisha is on the prowl for a one-night stand. She's recently divorced, yet the memories she reveals of her time with her husband shows she had a good man and a good marriage. Unfortunately, they took one another for granted and grew apart. Glenn is in the bar for the same reason. He's a divorced writer. His recollections of his wife show regret on his part for the way they drifted apart. Trisha neatly turns down a college-aged young man who offers action without even asking her name. When she and Glenn hook up, sparks fly.

I liked the characters, and the sex was hot, but I felt the pacing was a little sedate. I don't want to give away the ending, but I have to say I breathed a huge sigh of relief when it turned out exactly how I hoped. I'm a romantic at heart and I always hope for the best. Hooking Up definitely delivers on the subconscious promise it makes for the first half. I enjoyed this story. It's a nice beach read.
