In Hope's Heart we meet Hope Phillips, a social worker from Toledo. She has just discovered that she is a healer from a race of people long thought to be extinct, The' Rans. She, along with several other women, has been taken from Earth to heal the Ceyan people. A race of winged beings that have a terrible disease that causes pain and madness. She is also to become the mate to a Ceyan prince, Prince Aarik.

Hope's Heart is appropriately named due to the fact that Hope will find a love and purpose among the Ceyan people. This character has had a difficult life. She is a vulnerable and caring person. She will find what she has never known on Earth, love. Prince Aarik is a person who cares about the well being of his people. But he is more concerned about his mate. He will not want to risk her life to save others. Eve Vaughn does a wonderful job describing her characters. It is easy to visualize these two characters together. The plot 'how far are you willing to go to save your people?' is fully developed. The romance is steamy and exciting. The sex is creative. The dialogue is well organized and easily followed, making for a fast paced read. This story is part of a series and although it is not necessary to read the earlier stories it does add to the story. I feel the readers will enjoy this highly erotic and fascinating story.
