| Paige Easterman inherited her father’s horse ranch in Ocala, Florida. She didn’t know, however, that he had a partner. She travelled to his home to settle the estate to sell. Instead, she ran into Jake Skinner, business partner at the Circle O Ranch. He had other ideas. Suddenly she wasn’t so sure of her course of action.
Jake Skinner had worked with Paige’s father for some time. He knew she inherited his part of the business. He didn’t know she would try to sell it out from under him. He had worked and scrapped money together to try to counteract the bad business decisions the father had made. He didn’t know what he would do if he lost The Circle O. Ms. Wynter Daniels has written a short, fast-paced story about a woman who knew absolutely nothing about running a horse ranch and a man who knew nothing else. The characters were vividly described and quickly won the heart of this reader. The city girl had no idea how a horse ranch operated. The resident cowboy knew this was his life. How the conflict was settled became the best part of the story. These characters engaged in a hot, sexual fling before Paige realized the extent of the relationship of Jake and her father. There were no minor characters to speak of. The two people were important to each other and their relationship strained the outcome. This is a good and fast read. It was hard to put down. I recommend it, but not to the faint of heart.
