Dangerous Grounds by Josh Lanyon. A camping trip into the Sierra Nevada mountains turns into a fight for their lives for two off duty Special Agents. The author does a great job of painting the scenes so they're easy to visualize in our mind as we read. He also builds an intimacy between the men that's much more than sex.

The Second Indian War by Sarah Black is a touching tale of a young Navajo boy named Thomas Jefferson Benally trying to save the land he loves from the radioactive waste left over from uranium mines. The man he goes to for help? A reporter photographer named Sam Adams who is taken hostage to enlist his help.

Burn Card by Laura Baumbach tells the tale of a man so jealous of another for things beyond their control that he gets a little crazy. The villain kills for money then kidnaps Cody Baxter, a CSI agent. The kidnapper has always wanted everything Gil Turko had. He's always felt like he had nothing. In a last ditch effort to be someone he's not he throws away everything he has.

A second contribution by Sarah Black is The Classic Story of Good and Evil about two gay marine officers in Vietnam. It's a warm, loving story of two heroic men and their comrades in arms.

Each of these books set in different times and varied locales give us a look at courageous men doing what they believe in against almost insurmountable odds. The authors each excel at their craft as they build their storylines. Eroticism and suspense mixed with humor seems to be a trademark of all three authors and they present it well. This is one of those collections where each story is a treasure.
