| Diane Connors is a single mother of a teenaged son and the owner of a small ranch. Her marriage was anything but happy. Her late husband was a bully and the abuse only ended when she kicked him out for beating her son. Dave Delaney is a retired pro quarterback with a wild reputation. He is home in Hedgecock to coach the high school football team. He has finally grown up and wants to settle down. He would like to settle down with Diane if he can overcome her fears.
Diane and Dave have very strong chemistry that ends up in some pretty hot love scenes. Both characters are very likeable and I enjoyed the story of their reconnection. The author has a great love for and knowledge of football but does not expect the reader to understand all the terms. She has provided a glossary that more than covers anything that the reader might not understand. The story involves a football player but will appeal to anyone who likes an erotically told romance. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the speed in which Dave decided that he wanted to settle down with Diane. It seemed almost instantaneous, but I guess a quarterback is used to making quick decisions. This is a well done addition to the series.
