Vampire's Ball by Angela Knight
Kat learns about magical beings and the fact that she herself has the same abilities. She can harness her magic with the help of vampire, Ridge. It isn't long before her powers are put to the test as she battles a direwolf. Her powers might not be enough to save herself, Ridge or Lancelot.

This is another segment of Knight's Mageverse series. We get to see Grace and Lancelot again who have a special connection to Kat as well as learn a little bit more about this universe.

A Little Night Magic by Allyson James
Jamison left Naomi two years ago and now is back, claiming to be a Changer and that Naomi's life was in danger. Can she trust him to protect her and her daughter?

This story was full of heartbreak, trust, love, and a unique storyline.

Sweet Enchantment by Anya Bast
Bella loved Roman and she thought he loved her until he dumped her in front of all the Seelie court. Now Ronan is back and realizes he does have a reason to live, but will Bella be able to give up her lifestyle to be with him?

This was a rather complex tale of lost love that has been found again and the misunderstandings that abound without communication.

A Christmas Kiss by Lora Leigh
After spending a year in a breed jail for betraying their trust Jessica is now free but still required to live on the breed compound. Will the mating heat keep her there forever or will she be murdered by an unknown attacker?

This was another installment of the very popular Breed series. As usual it was full of steamy sensuality and intense emotional angst.

All four novellas are centered around the Christmas season. While I enjoyed the book overall, certainly Leigh's story was the best of the bunch. Bast's story was good but I had a hard time keeping track of who was who and the different types of magic. James's story was well written and unique in that I hadn't read a shifter story with this plot. Knight's Mageverse novella was a welcome and pleasant addition to the popular series. She always has great character development and manages to pull it off even in this short story.

Overall rating:
Sensuality rating: Explicit
