| Donovan has come to Savannah from Boston to investigate Ray Cleveland for his organized gambling activities. His presence is unpopular among Savannah residents, including Bebe, because they know Ray invests the money back into the Savannah people and economy. Bebe doesn't like why Donovan is in Savannah, but she can't help but be attracted to Donovan and the feeling is mutual. The investigation of Ray ties into an ongoing mystery at the old morgue that could very easily end their lives.
Dianne Castell has written a great story set in sultry and steamy Savannah, GA. The south is known for its friendly hospitality, charming ladies and old fashioned gentlemen and I believe Dianne has captured all these qualities in Hot and Irresistible. Bebe and her friends have forged a bond together since they were children and they rely on each other for everything. Bebe is known for her hard exterior, ill-fitting unfashionable clothes, and excellent cop abilities but she also has the innate southern grace that allows her to charm the men. Donovan, not being from the south, struggles to understand how the citizens can allow criminals to get away with breaking the law. There are lots of secondary characters that play a big part of making up the plot. The characters certainly drive this story forward with their loyalty to each other and their exaggerated southern charms. The romance between all the couples is steamy and sultry, paralleling the characteristics of Savannah. The mystery surrounding the missing jewelry brings the cast together in a fast-paced storyline full of humorous one liners. Descriptive narrative portrays Savannah in all its glory. I recommend Hot and Irresistible for anyone who likes stories with steadfast friendship, romantic relationships, sexy loving, and comedic descriptions of southern hospitality.
