| Kayla O'Brien has turned an ordinary life into one of glamour and high fashion since she graduated from High School. As the keynote speaker at a class reunion she hopes to gloat a little and get a lot of revenge. Jacob Lewis is the man she feels used her and walked away. She's hoping to do the same in return. Like most things in life, neither get quite what they expected on the night they've been planning for a long time.
Trixie Stilletto weaves a story that may precipitate a walk down memory lane for many of us. She prods those brain cells that will have us daydreaming about the past whether High School is the high or low point of our life. For Kayla and Jacob it marked a turning point. They've lived as if they were married to their careers for so long it's time to reevaluate and plan for the future. Leave it to Ms. Stilletto to give us a unique character like Jacob. He's gorgeous, thoughtful, romantic, and he knows how to cook. What a combination! Kayla seems to have only two thoughts in life, getting ahead in business and getting revenge. She's so focused on those two things that the walk back into the past may end the same way it did the first time. There are enough people who can help us make mistakes in life. But this author reminds us of the others, the ones that help us step back and look to see if there might be another way to interpret circumstances. As one of my favorite writers, Ms. Stilletto does it again. The eroticism is hot, the storyline is right on the money no matter what our circumstances. And there are those little sparks of humor to help us remember to cherish those ‘gotcha' memories we've had when facing down our nemeses.
