"The Zone: Hot Zone" is a short story that offers the reader plenty of action with just the right amount of steamy romance. Readers are caught in the web of intrigue within the religious cult, but at the same time are shown the urgent need which brings the main characters together. The romance scenes are well written, however, some of the actions of the religious cult could be upsetting to more sensitive readers. The characters quickly drew me in. It was refreshing to see the main heroine portrayed as a strong, smart and sexy individual who is on a mission of her own at the beginning of her story. The male lead is easily lovable from the first time he is introduced. Not only is he tall, dark and handsome, but he respects the heroines strong points and works with them to help accomplish both of their goals. Overall, this story is a great "quickie" read for those who enjoy a little futuristic romance.
