| Since attorney Jack Walker rescued her from an animal attack, paralegal Kate Owens wakes up naked and exhausted from disturbing dreams and hunting neighborhood strays. As a single mom she can't afford to miss work and her days are spent trying to maintain her sanity. Jack can explain what she is going through but first he must make her safe her from her attacker.
I almost stopped reading at the beginning when Kate mentioned her neighbor's cat and I wish I had because I had a nightmare about my two sweet kitties getting eviscerated. The premise was good but for me it just didn't live up to its potential. The characters were strong and there was a lot of them, but I never felt as if I made a connection. I was very disappointed to see beloved children's author Roald Dahl referred to as Ronald. There seemed to be just too much going on in this short story. I'm sorry to say that while others might find this adventurous quick read enjoyable I did not.
