| Danielle Linden is a reporter. While she is working on a missing persons story comes across something that she never could have ever imagined. It all starts when a distressed father comes into the office claiming that his daughter has been kidnapped by werewolves. She is unsure what to believe. She feels for the distraught man and decides to investigate and see if he may be able to locate his daughter. This leads her into the world of the supernatural where she will have to take part in pagan rituals and be confronted by lust driven werewolves.
Ben Davis is Danielle’s partner. He works hard trying to convince her that she should not look into this case. But eventually he knows she will find herself in danger from the very thing he has been trying to avoid for years. He is a werewolf and he has been able to keep this a secret. He is a vegetarian and with meditation and yoga he has been able to avoid changing with the full moon. He knows that for some reason his animalistic nature is growing stronger and he believes it is due to his attraction to Danielle. He soon learns this is the year of the Hunger Moon, a time when the goddess will make a demand of all her two nature children. To save Danielle from danger he will have to expose his secret and risk losing the woman he loves and part of his soul forever. Hunger Moon Rising is a fast paced action adventure that delves into the world of pagan rituals and supernatural beings. Readers will lose themselves in the excitement and passion that fills every page. Two vulnerable characters must face their secrets head own if they mean to survive. This is a story that is based on a world of beings that believe that is necessary to give homage by blood and lust. The storyline is fascinating and very creative. Danielle is a survivor of an abusive relationship but it has left her afraid and vulnerable. Her fear is tangible in the story and readers will be able to see things through her eyes. Her strength and bravery is demonstrated as she continues to seek the missing girl even after she is confronted by her fears. Readers will admire her courage as she seeks to help the father find his daughter. Ben Davis is a man that has spent most of his life denying a part of himself. Hating and fearing a part of himself he believes will gain control. This makes him weak when strength is what is needed. Readers will feel his pain as he learns to accept himself and becomes the hero that is needed. His transition from meek reporter’s assistant to werewolf hero is fascinating and sometimes painful to watch. The chemistry between the two main characters is not as evident as is seen in many romances. Ben recognizes his feelings but denies himself. While Danielle does not even recognize her feelings until it is almost too late. When feelings are exposed the passion and heat that is produced is amazing. They vigorously make up for lost time. These scenes are creatively graphic and will leave the readers quite stimulated. But even then they think too much and mistakes and misunderstandings stand in their way. This becomes a little aggravating as readers want them to open their eyes and their hearts to what they can have. Exciting action fills the story and will have the readers clinging to their seats and holding their breath as events unfold. This story consists of werewolves with a complicated society of rules. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse and will not protect you from retribution. Pagan rituals, bloody battles to the death, and lust crazed werewolves fill scene after scene with thrilling action. Readers will be pleased that they took the time to check out this latest in werewolf romances, Hunger Moon Rising by Evangeline Anderson.
