The Assassin Journals: Hunter is an action-packed, fast paced story with enough twists and turns that you’re never truly sure who is who and what is what until the very end. It basically tells the story of an average man who becomes a soldier and then the world’s best hitman.

Our story starts out on the forty-seventh floor of the Galaxy Hotel in the city of Dasrahji, the capital of the Rigian System where The Hunter is contemplating his newest job. His target is Vance Delaren, the new President Elect of the Rigian System. Having an attack of conscience Hunter makes a decision that will send him down a different path and changes his life forever.

Gage Brassan, aka The Hunter grew up with a normal home life until he decides to enlist in the Galactic Security Force against his parents’ wishes. Despite this Gage excels and graduates at the top of his class eventually being given command of Delta Six, part of the Elite Gold Band Strike Force stationed at Lachra on Andros Prime. Events that happen during this posting eventually lead him to the top of the Galactic Federation’s “Most Wanted” list.

S.L. Partington has written a marvelous book with fantastic world building and character creation. I actually felt like I was in Gage’s head every step of the way and considering everything he experienced, keeping me there was a phenomenal job on the author’s part. This is one story that kept me on the edge of my seat and so enthralled I couldn’t put it down. For those who might be wondering, yes Gage does get a happy ending. For me, this was one of those “different” books that is going on my keeper shelf and will definitely be recommended to every reader I know.
