| Sheila has had enough of Rafe and his indifference. They've been seeing each other for a while, and at first she thought that sex would be enough. She's so in love with Rafe, she was willing to take anything the vampire would give her. She had no idea that he would give her so little, and now she's decided to do something about it. When she finally puts her foot down, she expects Rafe to come to his senses. When he doesn't seem to be coming around, she decides to take some time to get over him and leaves.
Rafe can't believe that Sheila is playing this game with him. He told her from the start what he was going to do, and if she didn't believe him that's her problem. Unfortunately, he's finding it hard to do without Sheila and her warmth, in bed and out. When she leaves the compound after months of nearly no contact, it nearly drives him mad. He decides to go out and find her, to convince her to continue on as they were. He never expected to find her in the arms of another man. Rafe is definitely the stubborn one of the two in this story of two people trying to get past their fears. I almost cheered when Sheila left and decided to get on with her life instead of moping around waiting for Rafe to change his mind. Rafe has issues and is afraid to let himself love someone, but he is finds that loving someone can't be controlled. I loved watching Rafe come into his own and Sheila becoming a stronger person and hunter throughout the story. I have read all of the series, and I think that this one can be read on its own, although it does help to read the other ones. The Hunters 6: Rafe and Sheila is a great book that shouldn't be missed.
