| Nessa's husband died in her arms and his last words were that he would come back to her. After waiting for him for hundreds of years, Nessa finally reaches the end of her limits and doesn't want to wait anymore. Nessa's need to finish it all causes her to commit crimes that go against everything she stands for. And then Dominic shows up as her long lost love. How can they love each other when they don't even know each other anymore?
I wouldn't have thought I could like a romance where the action takes place in dreams or memories, and the hero and heroine don't share page time until half way through the book, but Hunter's Fall is the exception. It was emotionally charged with a tormented heroine and determined hero. Walker's talent is unparalleled. This was a superbly crafted story from beginning to end. Nessa has lived for five centuries and during that time has experienced every heart break imaginable. She's been extremely lonely, lost loved ones and friends, seen untold acts of evil, and dreamed of a love so strong that she wonders if she will ever have it for herself. She is a super strong character who questions her own strength and makes the reader like her even more. Her hero, Dominic, is equally strong but more so he is determined to learn who this woman is that fills his dreams with love and heartache. The other Hunters in the story round out the cast nicely. From the very first page I was hooked and even after the final page I found myself wanting to read more about Nessa and Dominic. The dialogue was perfect and some of Dominic's words were enough to make you swoon! This emotionally charged story will leave you breathless – and sighing at how the romaance is wrapped up in the end.
