Ana made a bad decision for the right reasons and Duke suffered for it. He can't forgive her but he also can't get her out of his mind. Years have passed and he still resents her. She leaves Excelsior, a school for the paranormal, and creates a life for herself in Alaska. A serial killer is on the loose in Anchorage though, and Ana calls Excelsior for help. Duke is sent to see what is happening and realizes his feelings for Ana are something special and rare. Now they have to work together to stop the killer and clear up misunderstandings from years past.

Walker's stories just keep getting better and better. Hunter's Need is fast-paced, thrilling, and full of action and adventure. Ana was a great character even though she didn't see herself as others did. In her quest to do the right thing, she made some unwise choices and has been suffering for them ever since. Her love for her brother was her biggest problem and her most redeeming character trait. I loved her because she was a strong enough character to put others needs before her own even though it made her life harder. Duke was a typical male shape shifter – alpha to the core. I love how these strong men are putty in the hands of their women. This is one story that you won't be able to put down. It starts out by grabbing your attention and the adventure doesn't let up until the last page. The characters, the plot, and the thought of future Hunter stories will linger long after you finish this book.
