Meg Ducass never thought that her trip to the Outback of Australia to take pictures would evolve into a hunt for a killer. But after leaving a situation where she is unwanted she bums a ride with Buck Daniels not knowing the purpose of his travels.

Buck Daniels is on the hunt of the man responsible for the death of his wife. Still grieving a wife he loved dearly he did not have time to get involved with a young woman no matter what her problems. But he feels sorry for her and could not leave her stranded out where she could possibly be in danger. Spending time so close together they find themselves eventually giving in to their mutual desire. Buck never planned to fall in love again and he did not wish to be unfaithful to his wife’s memory but he begins to feel for this amazing woman he travels with but does she feel the same?

Hunting With the Wolf by Romona Hilliger is an amazing romantic adventure to the Outback of Australia. The settings come to life through the words of the author as Meg takes photographs of the local scenery and wildlife. As the two main characters travel together the setting seems to aid in stirring the attraction they feel for each other. The settings seem made for romance and makes their desire burn hotter. The guilt and anger Buck feels for wanting to act on that desire is felt by the reader. This is an emotional story and it takes the reader step by step as they deal with the difficulties in their lives as well as the relationship that begins to develop. Meg feels rejected and hurt from the way Buck treats her. Not understanding his mental torture. Readers will sympathize with both of these compelling characters and begin to hope for them to open their hearts to each other.

Danger eventually catches up with them leading to some very realistic excitement. Thrilling, fearful and sometimes humorous situations develop through their fight to survive. There is always the underlying sense of what is to come, a feeling of intense expectation as Buck gets closer to his goal. Wonder and worry will add to this intensity about what Buck plans for the one he seeks.

How will justice be dealt to someone that committed such a brutal crime and will Buck be the one that administers that justice?

This story of love is touching in its realism. Readers will be able to identify and sympathize with these two very compelling characters. They will come away from reading this story with a feeling that this second chance romance just may develop into everlasting happiness.
