I have loved this series since I reviewed the first book and this book is as good or better than any of them. It is has an exciting roller coaster ride of a plot the will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time. The shifting back and forth in time especially will have you just a little off balance. The relationships between Cassie and Mircea and Pritkin take a few unexpected but interesting turns also. I really liked the glimpses that the author gave us of Cassie's mother; she answered a few of my questions, but made me think of so many more. Ms. Chance has created an interesting and fantastical world that I want to return to again and again. Her characters are vivid and easy to picture. She has a way with dialogue; I can almost hear each and every one of the characters and their accents. This book left me anxious to read the next one; I am dying to see what happens next!
