| Cassie takes the plunge and calls what she thinks is an escort service, needing a good looking man by her side, for the upcoming wedding of her ex, to her ex-best friend. Lee, taking the telephone call, not letting her know she has the wrong number, is intrigued and wants to know more, so he plays the game spontaneously, and agrees to meet her. Something unusual to brighten his normally hectic days.
Both are shocked at how attractive they find the other; with nothing but a telephone call to go on, one never knows just what to expect at a blind date. Lee definitely isnt disappointed; he finds her entrancing and looks forward to seeing just what makes this woman tick. Why in heavens name someone so beautiful needs to pay an escort, he wonders. They spend the evening getting to know each other and realize that they each really like the other. The weekend arrives and it does turn out to be interesting; playing the role of husband and wife, with a new baby on the way, can lead to some hilarious but stressful situations. Will they be able to survive this weekend? But things take a turn for the serious shortly afterward, when they return home. In the following weeks someone starts threatening Cassie with nasty notes and telephone calls. Then something goes wrong at her work, a sad and unfortunate incident, and their lives take a distinct turn for the worse. Really a super plot and I enjoyed this novel immensely. The characters are perfect for each other and it was wonderful to have the story work out the way it did. I liked the fact that I couldnt foresee what the outcome of the problem would be, and that Lee so enjoyed the idea of Cassie in his life, even though the two might end up needing a housekeeper to keep the peace, when she doesnt clean up enough for his taste.
