Beth started her life as a human girl. Stricken with leukemia, her future was doubtful at best. Seeking help from a promising government research program, Beth is tortured and changed at a genetic level. Now hiding her existence from her fellow mutants, Beth has become the most wanted creature in Heaven and Hell, a Nephalim. Simon, the last Ice Dragon, knows immediately what Beth is, but he sees only a beautiful woman he wants in his life. Gene, a Djinn, Simon's roommate and best friend, feels the same and will fight the forces of Heaven and Hell to keep their new love safe.

This is a tremendously entertaining read. Unique, funny, emotional, and deliciously sexy, the only complaint I had was the length. I wanted MORE! This story is superbly crafted with enchanting characters that you want to be friends with. Written mostly in first person from Beth's point of view, there are enough passages from Simon's and Gene's perspective to give the story a very nice balance. This is a formula all first person books should follow. I enjoyed the mish-mash of supernatural beings included in the story, from a siren afraid of the sea to a lizard man working as a maitre'd in an upscale restaurant. The relationship that develops between Beth, Simon and Gene is truly sweet. Though the sex is plentiful and graphic, it is presented in a beautifully emotional manner. It evolves in such a natural progression , that to remove an element from the ménage would truly be a sin. I highly recommend this book.
