| David Shaw and Christabel Lockhart met in the woods at a frozen pond on a cold weekend; she refused to have anything to do with him and he didn’t even get her name. That is, until Monday, when he was summonsed to his boss’ office to meet the new creative director. The sparks evident at their initial contact are still there, but it is obvious that Christabel is not pleased to see David again, especially in this setting where they would be working closely together.
Christabel has a problem; she is known as “The Ice Queen.” That there is something in her past which has greatly affected her is an understatement. After a period when David gave her all the space she needed to feel safe, there is a crisis between them after which she calls David at 2:00 a.m. and they meet for coffee. She unburdens herself to him and they clear the air which leads to an understanding; this, combined with the sparks already in place accelerates the story! This is a sweet story of two people who have problem pasts who need to let the stigma of past relationships disappear. The book is exceptional in its storytelling; the sex is dynamite! The bond linking the duo is explosive, but sweet. The rapport between Christabel and David is not lessened by the volatile sexual pressure. Ms. Aurora Black has a definite winner in this book. I heartily recommend it for a fast-paced, exciting read.
