Tee Anna Cox tells herself over and over that she would not cry just because none of her co-workers remembered that it was her thirty-first birthday. But what hurt worse was that her best friend Emm had not remembered and Tee thought that they were close. Like Tee, Emm was a genius and as scientists they worked for the government in buildings that were several levels below ground. Tee remembered that she had been taken away from her parents as a young child as a series of tests confirmed her genius status. But the one Tee remembered most was the day her dad left her and never looked back to see her running and begging him to take her with him. Oh, they visited for a time and then called, but they stopped calling altogether leaving Tee feeling betrayed. Now, at thirty-one Tee felt the longing to have a child that she would love and never leave or betray him as her parents did to her. Tee never took vacations and did not know much about the outside world, but had amassed a small fortune so she knew that she would have no worries about caring for a baby. But in order to get pregnant she needed a man to have a one-night stand with and so Tee devised a plan to give herself a birthday present with a week in Las Vegas. It was perfect! Tee only hoped that he could not tell that she was a virgin and that he would be gentle with her. Tee knew that if she wanted to attract a man that she had better get rid of her dowdy appearance and she set her sights on buying brightly colored and revealing clothes that the old Tee would never wear. Then she headed for the hair salon. The woman staring back at her in the mirror was gorgeous! Even Emm would not recognize her and what was all of her weird talk about she needed guards to protect her from being kidnapped? She was only a scientist for goodness sakes not the president!

Former Navy SEAL and now agent for AALSA, Travis Macfield needed a vacation from baby sitting snooty stuck up bimbos, and as Milo his boss gave him twenty-four hours of R and R Travis knew the perfect spot--Las Vegas! At thirty-four Travis was still a good looking man with a hot body that would have the ladies eager to jump in his bed. Las Vegas would be perfect since he knew upon his return that Milo would ship him off somewhere and it would probably be a jungle, as he was known for his skills there. But he could handle that, as his nickname of 'Wolf' did not apply to his prowess in bed, but his animal spirit. After all, he was part Native American.

As Travis sat in a hotel bar of the casino nursing a cold beer, he caught sight of a redhead with mile long legs and he was hooked at first glance. Oh he did not want to marry her--just have a little fun, Travis noticed that the blond German had eyes on red too, well sorry son, that redhead was going to be his until he had to leave.

T.D. McKnight writes a fast-paced, steamy hot novel where she pairs up two completely different people…a totally naive woman and a worldly ex-Navy SEAL. She throws in yummy suspense and intrigue that will have you rapidly turning pages! I could almost see Travis' mountain, hear the wolves howl as I plunged with these two when the tree bough broke. This one is a keeper!
