Illicit Magick is very inventive mixing favorite elements of paranormal, sci fi and romantic adventure in sexy new ways. The sex may be described as “vanilla” but it is a rich creamy treat with pecans, hot fudge and a cherry on top that will melt from the heat Luke and Elise generate! It’s a fast read that definitely had me hot and bothered! The sexual situations are varied and woven into the fabric of this rollicking tale. Among the Magicians of Night sex equals magic, and they need orgasms to feed their power. I loved the bathtub scene and the ways that Elise’s magic manifested. The humorous situations as she learned what she could do were delightful counterpoints to the dangers and erotic tension. She is an innocent but once she came out of her shell, so to speak, she was fierce! Luke begins as someone who can teach her how to gain control o! f her latent magic but he fast becomes vastly more important to her. From their first sensual encounter to the climatic conclusion Luke and Elise really make the idea of magical orgasms fly! The secondary characters add dimension and are intriguing. I hope to see more of that rogue Kelso in the future! I highly recommend Illicit Magick as a thoroughly enjoyable romantic erotic fantasy.
