There is also a group of mysterious people who know what the creature is and are sworn enemies. For Edie the possibility of making history by discovering a new species will have to be balanced with the needs of people who have remained a secret forever. I liked both Edie and Aidan but if Edie learns too much about Aidan or the creature she'll put her own life at risk. Plus Aidan has responsibilities to his people and Edie is an impossible complication that he can't afford.
